Registered Nurse Jon Perez displays all the criteria required to receive the DAISY Award. During my 9 day stay on the cardiac floor, Jon treated my wife and me with compassion and professionalism. He took special care to carry out my attending physician’s wishes for treatment while exhibiting friendship and a sense of humor during our sometimes stressed situations. Jon expedited all our special needs and concerns such as the need for oxygen for travel, updated injection for pneumonia prevention, and contacting the chaplain’s office so we could check the wording of our advanced directives filed in 2006. He efficiently and effectively orchestrated my discharge and personally escorted my wife and me to the hospital entrance to depart. We are both greatly impressed with Jon’s excellent cordial and yet totally professional manner and deeply grateful he was my caregiver.
