Jessy Jacob is more than just a nurse; she is a real life angel doing extraordinary work on WW II. Jessy cares for her patients as if they are her own family members.

Recently, Jessy cared for a patient who was newly diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease and going through a difficult divorce. This patient was very scared because she was experiencing superior vena cava syndrome from a very large mass which was compromising her breathing. She was afraid to get her first dose of chemotherapy, so Jessy spent a large amount of time sitting with, praying with, and crying with this patient. Jessy's comforting ways helped this patient through her initial treatments.

When it came time to discharge this patient, Jessy was notified that the patient's apartment had burnt down that day. Case Management was working on locating a place for the patient to stay. Jessy worried and prayed for this patient all night after work. She collected two bags of clothes from her family that she thought might fit the patient. Jessy came in on her day off the next day with clothes and toiletries for the patient knowing she would be staying in the hospital one more day. The patient's face lit up when she saw Jessy with her thoughtful gift. Jessy has since taken the time to find out that this patient is responding well to treatment, and she is now living with her cousin until she can get her own apartment.

Jessy is the most unselfish person you will ever know. She has a compassion for her patients that is inspiring. She is attentive to their every need, and she listens and is empathic to their every concern. Jessy goes above and beyond to ensure that her patients and families know their plan of care to put them at ease. Jessy's compassion doesn't stop with patients. Jessy is the most amazing team player on WW II. We have never known Jessy to complain. Instead of complaining she encourages her co-workers to continue on, even on the most difficult days. Jessy's smile and laugh warms everyone's heart. Her peers have affectionately nicknamed her The Mother Theresa of WW II.
