Jamie is a very caring and compassionate nurse and has had numerous letters of appreciation from families and patients. In Feb 2014 he received one such letter from a family of a patient who had died. The family even included him in the funeral services and had a "Dad's last earthly angel" poster dedicated to Jamie describing the impact he had on their father. What was written on the poster was this:

Jamie was dad's ICU nurse during his last days. He took care of Dad like no one else could. He and Dad created a special bond during his last days, and he provided dad and all of us tremendous comfort. Jamie was our core strength too. Last Thursday he stayed past his shift to help us tell Dad he was past the point of treatment. At that point he clearly said "Thank you" to Jamie, which were his clearest spoken words in days. On Friday Jamie was with us when the Doctor talked about removing the ventilator and moving him to a hospice room. This is when Dad wrote "Let's do it" on the Ipad. Later that night Jamie stayed 2 and a half hours past his shift to make sure Dad was situated in his hospice room and comfortable without the ventilator. Jamie gave us all incredible care, grace, strength, and courage. We will be forever grateful!

This is just one of many examples of the exemplary care that Jamie gives his patients. He truly makes a great impact on lives he touches.
