Jacque Lebow has been recognized as an outstanding nurse, and is the recipient of Saint Luke’s East Hospital’s DAISY Award. Lebow joined the SLEH team in October of 2011 as a float pool RN. During her time in the float pool, Jacque displayed incredible flexibility and versatility caring for patients throughout the hospital as well as the Emergency Department. While in the float pool Jacque was able to focus in on her critical care skills and quickly transferred to the ICU by March of 2012.
Jacque was nominated for this award by a patient she cared for in the ICU. This patient had suffered a cardiac arrest and was amazingly released from the hospital only 5 short days after experiencing the near death event. He took the time to recognize the impact that Jacque had on his recovery.
An excerpt from his letter:
“Jacque, with no reservations, is the finest nurse that has ever cared for me. She was intelligent, a great communicator, and most importantly, a compassionate and caring person. In every conversation about my health we had, her intelligence and knowledge of the heart as well as the thyroid that might have triggered my attack was exemplary. She was able to teach and show me how the thyroid affects the heart in a way I could understand…”
Thank you Jacque for all of you do for both our patients and the staff at Saint Luke’s East Hospital. We are so proud you are a member of the team!
