My dad was transferred to The Christ Hospital from West Chester Medical after falling & hitting his head from a V Tach. episode. He received a CT scan while at West Chester Medical that was negative for any brain bleeds. However, my Dad became very confused, combative, and lethargic. Heather picked up on these symptoms as possible signs of a brain injury. Even though the first CT scan showed no signs of a brain injury Heather followed her instincts and contacted the attending physician to suggest a repeat CT scan. That scan showed a massive subdural hematoma. My father was immediately transferred to the SICU.

We believe Heather's quality care and training played an actual role in saving my father's life. I know to Heather it was all in a day's work, but to me it meant the difference of sharing another day of life with my father and allowing my children to make memories with their "Pappy."

Later on in his stay, Heather once again stepped in to ensure Dad received appropriate care and stayed beyond her scheduled shift to see him through during his transfer back to SICU. Her presence during that critical time in my dad's stay meant more to us than words can express.

I have followed my dad to many hospitals during the course of his life and I have never observed this level of expert care and compassion as shown by Heather.
