Haridas contributes professionally to the organization and the community with knowledge, creativity, communication, and willingness to have excellent service. Collaboration is exactly what Haridas is bringing to healthcare and to the community. My working experience with Haridas in different roles exemplifies quality of service. During Haridas's nursing career of 23 years, he has been a bedside nurse, charge nurse, Assistant Nursing Care Coordinator, Nursing Care Coordinator, Clinical Manager, Clinical Director of Nursing, and he is now the Quality and Compliance Manager.
Haridas has clinical experience from working in three different nations. Haridas's dedication, hard work, and strength of character has enhanced the professional practice and the compassion to patients, colleagues, and employees. Haridas has an overwhelming sense of ownership and accountability. He knows the "hows" and the "whys" to procedures and practices, and is able to demonstrate and share his knowledge with others in a proactive approach.
Haridas is the standing member of Nephrology Department's clinical practice policy committee. Over the years, Haridas has created his own quick tip manual of things he has learned by reading, or from his own practice experiences. His colleagues and direct reports seek his advice to know the right answer and to share it in an educational way. With his foresight and proactive and analytical thinking, he can evaluate new ways of doing things that enhance quality.
During Code Yellow in the hospital, he was observed by me providing voluntary service many times. He took interest and time to create an emergency preparedness education video for the hemodialysis patient and family. His excellent knowledge in photography and his creativity were great resources for developing this product.
Haridas worked with me to improve the aphaeresis staff training program by developing a aphaeresis catheter care and a procedure video guide which was very impressive and highly commented on by the Carter Blood Care Team. He attends meetings of Texas ESRD Emergency Coalition (TEEC) and implements their recommendations in to practice within and outside of the hospital's ESRD program.
In order to enhance communication of the quality of patient outcomes to the patients, Haridas designed a report card which is maintained monthly and shared regularly with patient families. This has increased patient awareness and confidence in the unit's performance and quality. Haridas's passion and dedication to the care of children with chronic illnesses is evident as one observes him in his day-to-day practice at the nephrology.
When he encounters patients and families, not only does he explain the process, but he walks them through it each step of the way until they were comfortable. I have seen him many times sitting with families waiting for dialysis and answering their questions in a very friendly and respectful way. Haridas is always approachable to employees and patients whenever they are in need. As a leader, he takes the time to explain, make them comfortable with decisions, and show them that they will continue to receive the highest quality of care.
