Gwen Rogers
DAISY

• Gwen is so flexible with her schedule – she is willing to change her schedule as needed to help the department.
• She donates new books to the Emergency Department for us to give away, to peds patients and even bought storage drawers to store these things!
• I don’t know how we managed without her.
• Gwen is a pleasure to work with; she is kind, compassionate to everyone.
• She is always helping me out and works harder than anyone in the department.
• Through all of her health problems I do not know how she has stayed so happy, positive and fun to work with.
• She is one of the hospital’s best employees.
• Beyond her careful and considerate care of patients, Gwe4n works diligently at remembering and recognizing all the ER staff’s birthdays and special occasions. She also plans and organizes the Saturday potluck for her rotation. Generally, Gwen makes all the ER staff and the staff of our ancillary services feel like part of our team and like family.
• When I think of Gwen, several words come to mind: caring, helpful, dependable patient and fair. She always helps everyone, no matter who they are or how small the task is. She is very caring to her patients, excellent patient care and takes the time to answer their questions.
• She treats everyone with respect.
• Gwen is an awesome nurse and her patients are so fortunate to have her.
• She gives so much of herself to her patients and her co-workers and everyone is better for having known this fabulous nurse.
• On February 28, 2011, my son was involved in an auto accident and taken to KRMC for treatment in the ER. His nurse was Gwendolyn Rogers. I wish to thank her for her kindness and professionalism. As you can imagine, this was very stressful, but Gwendolyn was great!
• This RN exemplifies the kind of nurse that the patients and families as well as nurses, physicians and other members of the healthcare team recognize as an outstanding role model.
• The following scenario is an example of her patient care and ethics: Gwen had a homeless family, living in their car, come into the ED for their healthcare needs. She became aware of this when she gave some crackers to the little girls and one said, “Daddy, can I have both of the crackers?” The parents were embarrassed about their situation and trying to deal with their problems. So…Gwen provided sandwiches, etc and toys (which Gwen purchases herself for our kids) for them and offered resources which they would not accept. There were a total of 3 visits (one for each child and then the mother was sick) and by the last visit the kids were calling Gwen “Nana”. Gwen learned that the mom was taking her C.N.A. test during this time. Gwen was at triage another day and the mom came in excited just to report to Gwen that she had passed her test, gotten a job and they were moving into an apartment. Gwen respected these folks, showed compassion and let them maintain their dignity. She became more than an ED nurse to this family. This ability to connect with people is part of what makes her extraordinary and a highly valued member of our team.
• This is to Gwen Emergency Room Nurse. Gwen, you were working the night of Halloween, 2009 and I had to come in due to a sudden severe pain in my left side. You were absolutely wonderful to me, bringing me warm blankets and just being a comforting presence. I told you I worked for the Museum at Central School and said I’d send you some free passes to come visit. So maybe you can share some with friends or family. I apologize for taking so long (understatement!) to send these! Wanted to say thank you again for being you – kind and caring.
• My son in law ended up in the ER recently. He was expecting a 3 hour wait, so he brought a book. Boy was he surprised! He was back home in 90 minutes (he lives 30 minutes out of Kalispell). He said Gwen was the most awesome nurse; everyone was great, but Gwen was super-great: funny, kind, quick and efficient.
