Erin Shinabarger is a very compassionate, caring, and understanding nurse. She handles stressful situations with confidence and understanding. Here is an example of great care that Erin provided one patient.

A patient that Erin was caring for developed increasing pain to her left leg and the swelling increased. We contacted the vascular surgeon and the Rehab physician. The vascular surgeon was in an emergency and couldn't make it there right away, so he told us to remove the staples to release the pressure. Erin Shinabager, RN, responded quickly and got in there and started removing the staples and lets just say it became a critical situation, quickly. The vascular surgeon showed up soon afterward, removed the rest of the staples and the patient was sent to OR then to ICU.

He was very complimentary of Erin and how well she handled the situation. He stated she probably saved this woman's life. Erin was this patients nurse. She was very aware of the situation, stayed on top of calling the doctors and handled the stressful situation quite well. For being a fairly new grad, I was very impressed and the patient and physician were very complimentary of her as well. I think Erin is an extraordinary Nurse.
