Erika is a fellow nurse, mentor to myself and others, as well as a friend. She not only exemplifies compassionate care to her patients, but as a preceptor and mentor to our new nurses extensively over the last year, she has shown incredible care to her coworkers. She is often the first to offer help, the first to respond to urgent situations, and is quick to offer a kind word. She cultivates long lasting relationships with her patients, and is not only compassionate and caring, but gosh darn smart, too. I have the utmost respect for Erika and feel she is a prime example of a DAISY nurse.

Erika shows up to work each day with a positive attitude and a contagious laugh. She connects well with both staff and patients and makes an effort to be inclusive and create a supportive, positive culture on 7NE. Especially with the amount of new staff we've hired, she creates opportunities to get to know each person on an individual basis. She is an outstanding preceptor-patient and positive, as well as an excellent role model as an RN and charge nurse. Erika is always approachable for questions and guidance. She has taken many leadership roles on 7NE through UPC, attended various conferences, and seems to know the latest information about our patient population. She is an excellent nurse advocate, making people feel supported; as well as an excellent patient advocate, going above and beyond to care for her patients. Erika is very deserving of the DAISY award as a phenomenal nurse and person. She is an asset to the 7NE/8SA team.
