Dawn Hardin exemplifies Banner Health's Values! Most hospital employees have probably never heard of her ability to bend over backwards to ensure her patients receive timely scheduling with excellent care. Here are a few examples.
One morning a patient arrived from an outlying area, about 3 hours away. The patient's insurance had not yet authorized his visit and Dawn would have been unable to complete the patient's treatment without insurance authorization. It was early in the morning and the hospital's authorization team was not here nor had they been able to obtain authorization the day prior. Dawn went above and beyond calling the insurance company, obtaining authorization, and providing this patient's treatment. By her being proactive and resourceful she was able to save this patient a second trip to Fallon and give him the treatment he needed.
Dawn is also continually looking for opportunities to improve the workflow of her department resulting in improved and expedited patient care. Recently she made a check list for staff and physician offices in order to ensure BCCH obtains all the necessary information to provide timely care for the patients.
Dawn exceeds expectations on a daily basis! She has been known on more than one occasion to stay well past the infusion center's closing time to squeeze in an additional patient not on the schedule. Specifically, she stayed late to provide medical care to a patient who otherwise would have had to go to the Emergency room for her treatment. Dawn recognized that the ER was not the best place for this patient as she was immune suppressed. Dawn made herself and department available by staying several hours after closing to give her the treatment she needed.
Dawn truly puts her patients first and continually looks for ways to provide excellent patient care.
