Danyelle was nominated by a mother of one of her patients. This mother wrote that as she was preparing for her stay at LeBonheur, she made sure that her children, pets, and other family members were taken care of. Upon arrival, the mother and child were sent into what felt like a whirlwind of tests and labs. When things settled, the mother made sure her child was resting and wanted to shower, herself. When she went to her suitcase, she discovered she hadn’t packed any shirts for herself. Danyelle came in the room to assess the child and check on the family. The mother mentioned that she had forgotten to pack for herself. The next morning, without making a big issue, Danyelle brought her a bag full of LeBonheur T-shirts from her own closet at home. The mother stated this made her feel less self conscious about her error and helped her develop a bond with her child’s nurse. Danyelle went above and beyond to ensure this mother was comfortable and cared for during her stay.
