Colleen has been an employee of Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis for thirty years. She has worked in the inpatient setting as well as outpatient surgery. Colleen is very knowledgeable in her nursing skills while always showing compassion for all her patients and their families, along with all her co-workers.
She is always wearing a smile and continues to remain positive, even on very stressful days and in any stressful situation. She heads up several projects to help better any nursing care that can be given. She is always revising the nursing policy and procedures and makes sure she shares this information with all the nurses. She has been revered by many of the nurses on the divisions as a true role model for others to look up to. Colleen shows, not only in her words, but in her actions how much she values being associated with Shriners Hospitals for Children and the joy, she herself, receives when caring for her patients and their families.
Colleen has always been a mentor to many of us nurses working here at Shriners' Hospital and to this day remains that mentor to all that enter our Shriners family.
