... What a relief to be able to be a daughter at the bedside, instead of a nurse - trying to explain everything to my sisters and brother. Our family was in shock this night - she always told us she was going to live to be 101! Little did we know of God's timing to take her to be with him!

The doctors were wonderful. They were in agreement with us to make her as comfortable as possible as her life support was withdrawn. The Chaplin was wonderful and gave a very good talk with us and a prayer.

Cindy on day shift was amazing! As the family grew throughout the morning to say goodbye to Mother, Mom, Mamaw, Granny , Aunt Freda all the day shift staff were very gracious and kind - keeping the bereavement cart stocked with water and tissues for the room. Hopefully, the stories we shared, the laughter they heard and the songs that were sung was a blessing to someone other than the family. Our tears of joy and sorrow and our mixed emotions of saying goodbye but knowing she was on her way to heaven was a great comfort.

Thank you Cindy for the reminder - be a daughter - not a nurse!. It was very hard to do at times as I wanted to be a nurse so as not to face what was really happening at the time. Today, I am grateful for her hugs, prayers, words of comfort. Thanks to all the staff that was working the night she was admitted for your hugs and prayers. They have meant a lot to me.

My family was very impressed with all the staff that day - not only for the support and comfort that was shown to me - but asking them what they needed. It is with great pride I can say I work with the BEST of the BEST! Thank you!
