Christie always has a smile on her face. It is a common occurrence for me to hear patients and family members request her to come and visit them or have her as a nurse when she is working on the unit.

As a nurse, Christie's natural abilities to be compassionate and caring can be seen when she is with her patients and their families. This is especially true when she has had some emotional and difficult situations. One particularly challenging scenario involved a patient and his daughter. The patient's daughter was seeing her father deteriorate and was channeling anger at the nursing staff. Christie was there for her while she vented her frustrations, anger, and sadness. When the daughter started to break down and cry, Christie supported and consoled her. Christie is one of those nurses who not only takes great care of her patients, she truly cares about them.

Christie intuitively knows when help is needed and gives of her time without being asked, to patients and staff. I would trust her to care for my family. She is an exceptional nurse.
