My wife's pain was challenging, requiring extra attention to my wife. Ashley was attentive to both the needs of my wife and unborn child, and was in constant contact with the doctors and relaying information to us and to the doctor. One critical instance comes to mind; during shift change, Ashley noticed the baby monitor was not picking up our baby's heartbeat. She quickly called for help, placed oxygen on my wife, and flipped her to onto her hands and knees. Our son's heartbeat quickly returned and was later born healthy. Ashley was excellent and gave wonderful care, we are thankful for her.

Ashley's comforting and confident demeanor was especially appreciated during the delivery process. She stayed by my side and provided me with words of encouragement for over 4 hours during the second stage of labor. I ultimately required a cesarean section, which was very disappointing and upsetting for my husband and me. Ashley volunteered to stay past her shift to accompany me to the operating room. Her dedication truly made us feel more comfortable during a very stressful time.
In the OR, our OB/GYN required immediate and emergent assistance. Ashley calmly and quickly assisted the doctor without hesitation or reservation. We will forever be grateful that Ashley was present in the OR to help provide the safe delivery of our daughter. For the next few days, she continued to impress us with her nursing experience and dedication. She patiently taught us how to swaddle a newborn, helped assist me with breast feeding, and took extra time to make a bow out of gauze for my daughter's newborn hat. These are just a few of the ways Ashley went above and beyond to provide exceptional care.
We were both very impressed with Ashley and were very grateful that she was a part of our delivery story. Baptist health is very fortunate to have an outstanding nurse like Ashley who deserves recognition for her hard work, experience, compassion, and dedication to patient care.
