My husband suffered a massive stroke and was due to be placed in the medical ICU, but as it was full, he was placed in the Burn Unit. The nursing care that my husband received in that unit was outstanding, in particular, the care given by Ashleigh Sommer. She was absolutely dedicated to the care of my husband and our family.
When we discuss that trying time in the hospital, Ashleigh is always the person that I refer to as an outstanding nurse in taking care of us. It is like she has become a part of our family. My children, grandchildren, brothers, nieces, nephews –all remarked what great care she had given to my husband in the hospital. She was always there for our every need. She was always close by and yet gave us our space when we needed it.
Losing a loved one is never easy for anyone, but to have such outstanding nursing care as we were provided with by Ms. Sommer, this sad time was made so much less stressful for us and we continue to be deeply appreciative of her kindness and concern for our family. We consider her a special lady and we were very lucky to have her as my husband’s nurse.
