I feel we got to know you well during these last weeks. Your concern and care for both my husband’s and my well-being was irreplaceable. We both feel as if we have learned a lot just watching you advocate on our behalf in this situation. I am truly grateful to you for your hands on management style over the past month. It showed me so clearly how God’s love was at work through your caring hands.

Your advocacy was amazing to see. It really showed what our teachers constantly tried to explain in nursing school. Somehow, seeing you in action helped me to understand so much better what our roles as nurses entail. You were such a strong patient advocate. I not only benefited, but also learned from your example.

Arous is great choice as a DAISY Award recipient because of her passion for excellence in patient care and the patient experience. She has been a coach and mentor to the SICU staff in the areas of quality care and patient safety.

Arous has a pattern of daily rounding on all patients in SICU to meet and discern any needs of the patients and family members. But Arous's greatest strength has been partnering with OneLegacy to assure that the family members of our patients at the end of life have the opportunity to donate for another’s life if they choose.

We are proud to have Arous as Head Nurse of SICU and congratulate her on her DAISY Award recognition.
