I’ve had many nurses in my two weeks stay – some better than others. Ann was a very focused nurse with my early care. After a bad weekend, Ann was back on Monday morning and it was great to see someone so concerned and compassionate with her patients.

Additional nomination same nurse
Ann is a funny, caring person, who puts patients at ease with her friendly smile. She is always eager to help, do whatever you need, never making you or the patient feel like they are imposing.
She is careful about what she says and tries to be nonjudgmental of others recognizing that we can’t know everything about a person and there could be reasons for whatever is happening.
She encourages others on the unit to strive for clinical ladder. She made a beautiful booklet that we could use to teach trach patients/families about trachs. She has asked to be a mentor for new employees.
Ann is always striving to improve herself and her skills and then to share that with others. I see Ann teaching others how to share the warm connection she has with patients and families.
Besides the above, Ann knits caps for GSH newborns as a volunteer. She often does volunteer projects at church especially fish fry season.
If you need help or need to switch a day on your schedule, call Ann, she’s always willing to help.
Comments from discharged patients when we made discharge phone calls:
