My wife had been struggling with breast feeding and it was a struggle determining the cause-a bad latch, or lack of milk production, or both. We met with a few people, including two pediatricians, trying to get and keep his birth weight up and a regimen for pumping, etc. Ann noticed that the Baby's frenulum might not have been clipped enough, perhaps causing him to nurse poorly and causing his mother pain and discomfort leading to her being upset, the baby being upset, and of course me, the dad, because they are all grumpy, in pain, and hungry. Ann recommended that we go and see a specialist pediatrician who also specializes in lactation, to look at his frenulum, and determine if that needed further clipping. It indeed did, and the difference was night and day. He latched immediately and my wife thought that he wasn't even feeding which he actually was. He ate over 2oz. of milk in only a matter of minutes.

Without Ann's recommendations, care, and assistance we would not have likely sought the opinion of another pediatrician; he still would have had limited movement of his tongue due to his frenulum, and we would have been kind of rough around the edges as a family at this point, and might have had to ultimately use formula as a means of nourishment, which we really did not want to do. Ann was instrumental in helping our new family and we are extremely grateful!
