Anita is always available for fellow nurses. She is very hardworking, caring, and compassionate. She provides excellent leadership skills, is an active member on the Pharmacy Council, and holds a national certification in critical care.

One day I, an agency nurse, was receiving a patient from OR who was reported stable during report. Anita was in charge, and when the patient arrived to the unit, he was on vasopressor drips and had an invasive catheter inserted to monitor the function of his heart. I was overwhelmed, as I wasn't expecting this, and I don't get these types of patients too often. Anita was at my bedside to assist and perform critical steps in setting up the patient monitoring equipment properly. At the same time, she advocated for the patient by inquiring with the surgeons and anesthesia the need for such monitoring equipment to facilitate appropriate patient assignment and patient care. I was so relieved and left at ease by her support and expertise. Not all charge nurses would have come to my rescue in this type of situation. This is one of many occurrences in which she advocates for patients, families, and staff. She is always following up on dependent units, nurses, MDs, etc. to ensure patient flow, and customer satisfaction. She is thorough in her patient care. She is a positive leader in the unit and communicates effectively with all disciplines. She is highly accountable and an excellent nurse.
