I've spent the majority of the last few years inside of a hospital and not once have I met such a caring and compassionate nurse. My stay started out scary involving being rushed from trauma ER up to the PICU for septic shock. Once I made it to the floor, Allison was one of the first nurses I had. She quickly became my favorite. She always worked extra hard and always did more than she ever needed to. She advocated for me when I couldn't and that was a major blessing. My parents knew when they weren't there I was in good hands if something were to go wrong. I was there almost a month and knowing I was having a hard time, she had a way of keeping me optimistic. She gave me hope and never let me give up. She encouraged me so much and helped me realize that just because I've had to put school on hold for now due to health problems, I will get there and be a great nurse. I've never met a nurse as wonderful as Allison. My whole family and I could not have asked for a better nurse. I can only hope that I'm even half as good a nurse as Allison.

...

Every time Allison walked into the room she had big smile on her face that was contagious no matter how bad I was feeling. We were there for close to a month and she never stopped advocating for me, especially when my parents weren't there. She could tell when I was getting too upset to talk and would take over for me. I have always wanted to be a pediatric oncology nurse. But, Allison's constant smile, amazing attitude and the fact that she goes above and beyond her normal duties makes me want to become a nurse even more. She definitely shows her passion behind that isolation gown she had to wear while taking care of me. I hope that one day someone will say the same of me.
