Marianne Cortes, RN on A4 Pediatric Unit was nominated for the award by her young patient Pablo and his mother Gemma Crespo. Gemma commended Marianne’s dedication, professionalism and human spirit, and thanked her for seeing her son through his treatment.

Pablo’s own nomination form best captured the extent of Marianne’s compassion, “My time at the hospital was hard for me, but she was very comforting. I had to spend my birthday here which made me very upset. It was Marianne’s day off, but she still came in. She also brought a gift and cards from her kids. It cheered me up a lot.”
