Margaret had 14 nominations in all. She was chosen after reading these two nomination forms which were both submitted by Physicians. The first nomination form read ”Margaret has been an employee at UHCC for over 38 years. I have personally worked with Margaret for the past 22 years. She has always demonstrated excellent abilities and a positive outlook. Margaret always brings “a smile” to work which is appreciated by her co-workers and patients. She is very compassionate.. She is very adaptable to acceptance of new protocols, guidelines and procedures which happen often in Cardiology". Signed by Dr. Christopher Bowen The second nomination form read “I would like to nominate Nurse Margaret Shephard of the Nuclear Medicine and Cardiology Department for the Daisy Award. Margaret has been a dedicated employee with this organization for over 38 years and exemplifies what nursing is all about. Her constant attention to detail while coordinating the critical care required during the three different types of stress testing is to be commended. She is in touch with each patients care and any concerns they may have about their test. Her first priority is patient comfort. Margaret explains in detail what each patient can expect from the testing process which includes Stress testing, EKG testing and Halter monitoring. I feel honored to say I work with Margaret.
