DAISY Nurse Spotlights

Lisa Perdomo, RN

ED, Homestead Hospital

Homestead, Florida

"I would like to nominate Lisa Perdomo, the charge nurse for this award.

She has always been a good nurse but this time really took the cake. On Saturday we came in to work and found the fridge empty. There was no food for the patients. The morning staff wasn't able to go to the cafeteria during
the day and pick up supplies. We were out of juice, crackers and
sandwiches. We had nothing to give the night patients. So, Lisa took it
upon herself to go to the store and spend her own money, buying bread,
slices of ham and turkey, mustard and mayo. When she returned from the
store, she sat in the lounge and prepared and served sandwiches for the
patients. WOW is all I can say. She went beyond her job description.
Please agree with me and award her the prestigious DAISY Award for
Extraordinary Nurses."
