DAISY Nurse Spotlights

Lisa Drohner, RN

Same Day Surgery, Aurora Lakeland Medical Center

Elkhorn, Wisconsin

This nurse exemplifies the kind of nurse that patients and families, as well as nurses, physicians and other members of the health care team, recognizes as an outstanding role model.

I was having cataract surgery on November 17, 2009. Lisa immediately put me at ease about the surgery. She explained everything she was doing, i.e., eye drops, IV, etc.. It is extremely difficult for a nurse to find a good vein in my arm. Lisa accomplished finding a vein on the first try.

After the surgery Lisa was very attentive to any discomfort I might be experiencing. She took the time to make sure I understood the instructions on my medications before I went home and when there was no one around to transport me to my car, Lisa took me down in a wheel chair.

From Myra in admitting to Lisa my nurse, I received excellent service and care. Lisa Drohner reconfirmed my wife Terri’s and my belief that Aurora Lakeland Medical Center offers the highest standard of nursing care.

Nominated by Robert (patient) and Terri Jambor
