DAISY Nurse Spotlights

Linda Talla, RN

MICU, Rush University Medical Center

Chicago, Illinois

Linda was nominated by a coworker:

“I am a nurse here at Rush.  The patient I was taking care of this evening was due to have his port recannulated.  The patient refused any of the nurses on my floor to change it.  He only wanted someone who does this on a daily basis or Linda Talla, a nurse from another unit to recananulate it.  I called the other unit looking for Linda, explained the situation, and she kindly said she would do so after 8pm.  She was not obligated to come to my unit to do this, however, she went the extra step and did the patient and myself a favor.  We really appreciate her efforts.   She is definitely a team player.”
