DAISY Nurse Spotlights

Kay Soder, RN

Psychiatry, Harborview Medical Center

Seattle, Washington

Kay was nominated by a coworker:

Kay is a charge nurse but does exceptional things for patients that most charge nurses would not do. She is caring, patient, does things like giving showers, takes time to interact, listen and understand patient's needs. Besides her tight schedule and demand as charge nurse, she puts extra time in caring for patients and meets their needs to the best of her ability. She motivates staff working under her by complementing and thanking them for a job well done. She is helpful to her staff and cares to find out how they are doing with their assignments and letting them know that she is available if they need help. She is never upset or if she is she does not show it. She is a wonderful RN3 to work with.
