Please consider Anne Roland, RN for the DAISY Award. She is a devoted,
compassionate and highly skilled NICU nurse. Anne is admired by her peers. She is a leader and resource person in the NICU. Her generosity for our nurses in need is more than anyone can imagine.
For example:
One of our nurses became ill, had family problems and ended up loosing everything except her job. Anne brought her a car so she could come to work. Anne did not tell anyone because she is so gracious and gives truly from the heart. Another nurse was having a life crisis and Anne encouraged her to pray together. No one takes Anne's friendship for granted. Besides helping, us she puts her heart and soul into her nursing care.
For example:
The last 4 + months, Anne has taken on a most challenging task of being a primary nurse for a little baby that is extremely critical and has had many ups and downs. She is devoted to caring for this baby. She has developed a rapport with the parents by encouraging them, educating them and offering emotional support on a daily basis. In this case, it takes inner strength, patience combined with her expertise in caring for this critical baby. The parents are so thankful and appreciate her. The NICU nursing staff thank her from the bottom of our heats for caring for this baby and her parents. Anne has reached out to this family in so many ways. We have learned so much from Anne and she inspires us to be better nurses as well as better people.
We think she might be an "angel".
