Ann Tiemann, RN

Nursing Resource Pool, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital

Ann Arbor, Michigan

Ann was nominated by a patient's appreciative wife:

"From the moment we first met Ann, she was a take charge sort of nurse and I loved it! She has a lot of knowledge and was able to share it with us in a very friendly, non-threatening way that made my husband more receptive to listening. Being a young stroke victim, I wasn't sure how he would take to the huge stroke booklet that was handed to him. Ann covered the information
with us in a very easy manner, in more of a conversation form than formal teaching. My husband responded well to this. His IV was hurting him and I had forgotten to ask the doctor if we could dc it. Ann came in and remembered that we wanted to ask and she went and hunted down the doctor on her own, got the order to dc, and then came and did it. Little things like this made our stay much easier. I think that Ann is one of the shining stars on St Joe's 9th floor. She had a positive impact on our lives and I just wanted to take the time to say "thank you" and let you know."
