Anila Varghese, RN Med/Surg, CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital Katy, Texas

Anila received three nominations. The first nomination, collectively written by 6 student nurses, recognized her for her excellent service to student nurses of Lone Star College. The nomination reads “For her taking time to explain procedures and rationale for all different nursing interventions. She takes time to draw diagrams so you can better understand each process. She is also encouraging to us to make us motivated to do a good job.

Our patient nomination forms recognized Anila as wonderful, always making sure to come in and say hi and see how I was doing, even when she wasn’t my actual nurse. She always stayed ahead of the IV, and was there to change it before I had to lay there and listen to it ring.

It is obvious that Anila Varghese anticipates her patient and family needs in a spirit of service, and has been recognized as an outstanding role model.
