Agnes Cindrich, BSN, RN-BC

Pediatric Behavioral Health,

NewYork Presbyterian Payne Whitney Westchester

White Plains, New York

Agnes (Aggie) Cindrich is the Administrative Senior Staff Nurse on our Children’s Behavioral Health Unit.   Aggie is admired as a nurse who has much compassion for the children with whom she works--children who have serious behavioral health problems and often challenging family systems.  She has an incredibly giving spirit.

Whatever holiday is approaching, Aggie will bring in stickers, wall hangings, toys, books, and miscellaneous items for the children at her own expense.  She will pick up a birthday cake on her way to work for a child celebrating a birthday in the hospital.  She has an innate ability to connect with all the children, no matter how complicated their situation.  Her genuine, kind, and open demeanor is understood by every patient and this is why the patients trust her, make her loving cards, notes, and utter her name in a positive way in rounds and in community meetings.

Aggie is a gifted professional.  Her humor and execution of her messages are spontaneous and she always loosens up the team with her funny, off-the-cuff anecdotes and comments.  She is seen as the “core” of the unit.  She is the epitome of love, caring, devotion, professionalism, and wisdom.  Aggie received the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses, because she IS one!
